Most everyone knows about White
Sands National Monument, but few know about Mescalero Sands. While not
as extensive as White Sands, Mescalero Sands is still an interesting place,
and a good spot to see if you're traveling east from Roswell. A passenger
car can make it fine, though the area is open for off-road vehicles too.
It is managed by the Bureau of Land Management.
