The Albuquerque Public Schools have a WWW page chock full of school information and resources, including a list of URLs to Albuquerque schools with home pages. Information about alternative healing schools in the Santa Fe area is available. The Artesia Public Schools, famous for their project to experiment with radio communications with the Space Shuttle, have a website that includes the highschool and the intermediate school. The Carlsbad Public Library will be celebrating 100 years of service in 1997! The students at Chamisa Mesa High School maintain a school web page. College of Santa Fe is a non-profit organization, and the oldest college in the state(1874). Eastern New Mexico University in Portales is the largest educational institution in Eastern New Mexico and is home to the ENMU Greyhounds. Eastern New Mexico University also has a campus at Roswell, with its own website. Farmington High School is said to be the largest highschool in New Mexico. Someone at Gallup Highschool told me they had a famous webpage there. International Universities specializes in dynamic and educational study-abroad programs for students of all ages. Los Alamos High School and Los Alamos Middle School both provide homepages. Los Alamos Nat'l Lab Research Library. provides information resources and services to LANL and is a member of the Library Services Alliance of New Mexico. The Marshall Memorial Library (formerly Deming Public Library) has a home page. Mayfield High is located in Las Cruces, New Mexico and is part of the Adventures in Supercomputing program sponsored by Sandia National Laboratories and funded by the Department of Energy. McCurdy School in Española was founded in 1912. It is a private Christian school affiliated with the United Methodist Church. Memorial Middle School in Las Vegas, NM. The Navajo Preparatory School is in Farmington. New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, New Mexico has been rapidly building their WWW site. New Mexico Learning Disabilities Association is an organization that provides support and information to persons with learning disablities, their families, and the teachers and other professionals who serve them. is the premier educational institution in southern New Mexico. Its
Agriculture school is well known throughout the southwest. NMSU also has a fine Astronomy website that describes their research and educational activities in great detail. The NMSU Library has a Website featuring extensive databases, including sites for Las Cruces and Southern New Mexico, an online catalog, and WWW links to other sites of interest. New Mexico Tech is a leading science and engineering university. Their Electrical Engineering/Physics Department has a homepage that contains a lot of material of interest to us lay people as well as to specialists. Their highest enrollments are in computer science, electrical engineering, environmental engineering, and physics. New Mexico Tech Library in Socorro contains the finest map collection in the southwest and other outstanding scientific and technical resources. The reading room is a must-see with a unique Holly Hughes sculpture of a mule's head (the Tech mascot is a miner's mule) made from the high-tech leftovers of Tech's engineering labs. The Office of Indian Education Programs (OIEP) gives an overview of the purpose, programs, and activities of the OIEP. The Phillips Laboratory Technical Library serves the U.S. Air Forces' research laboratory at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque. The Plumtree School in Pilar has a famous visual arts program. Santa Fe Community College The Santa Fe Public Library has a lot of interesting information available. For example, do you know which are the ten books people are most willing to stand in line for? They also keep lists of various kinds of popular books about the southwest. See Books. Santa Fe Workshops specializes in the Photographic and Digital Imaging arts. Their faculty and advisors are nationally acclaimed professionals in the photographic and graphic arts. The Socorro Public Library is housed in a charming old adobe building in the old part of Socorro. It is an ideal place to find a good book, kick back in a couch near the fireplace and stay awhile. The Southwest School of Botanical Medicine offers various educational programs in botanical medicine, and field classes and programs. Southwestern Indian Polytechnical Institute is a BIA funded college serving the needs of the Native American Community. It is located in Albuquerque. TVI, the Technical Vocational Institute in Albuquerque specializes in "Education you can use". Their homepage is still under construction as of 6/15/1995, so keep checking back. Tusuque, the home of the Oñate Knights, has an intimidating website! The University of New Mexico in Albuquerque maintains an extensive site. Vista Middle School is famous around Las Cruces.
